MUVES and Professional Development. Begin by revisiting one or more of the MUVEs you explored this week. Then, contribute the following to your group’s wiki:
Identify at least two professional organizations that have an online presence and offertraining or workshops in the MUVE.
Identify one personal learning network available in the MUVE that will help you keep abreast of new and emerging technologies.
Identify at least one other resource in the MUVE for information about new and emerging technologies (e.g., technology reviewer, futurist, researcher, or journal).
Next, respond to the following question:
How could you use the MUVE—and the resources you found—to engage colleagues (local and remote) in professional development workshops?
Finally, contribute an additional suggestion, strategy, resource, or idea to at least one of your community members’ posts. Assignment length: 2–3 paragraphs

When you visit the link above noted the "quick links" area to the right of the page and you'll see information about Universal Design Learning in a Multimedia Environment.
MMVE 2012 : The 5th International Workshop on Massively Multiuser Virtual Environments
For this one plan on traveling to Munich, Germany if you want to be there in person. The dates are Oct 8, 2012 - Oct 8, 2012 . This workshop looks like it is intended for the developers, but I though I'd share it anyway because I thought it might interest the group.
This training opportunity is also headquartered in Germany. "EMUVE main idea is to develop a Multi-User Virtual Environment for Entrepreneurs that want to increase entrepreneurship abilities and raise knowledge in areas such as marketing, business, finance, innovation, project management and internationalization. By doing it, this project will promote successful entrepreneurship and improve the business environment in SMEs, allowing them to realize their full potential in today's global economy."
This would be a great project to do with my Virtual Enterprise students or my business computer class.

This group creates a quarterly journal "...publishes papers related to the underlying theory, design, implementation, effectiveness and impact of virtual technology and multimedia systems in science and engineering".

This was a very informative web site because it talk about how you can incorpoate a MUVE into the higher education setting. This is a great web page with some very interesting thoughts on move into the 21st century. On this web page they spent alot of time useing a 3D world with avatars to represent the people that were workign together. There are some great resources and the site uses many different enaligoes to express how you can take new technologies and use the in the classroom.
Learning in the virtual world is slightly different but it is invaluble in the times of now. We need to really study this and understand it becuase this is the way that much of the pwrld of education is going.

After reading throught the web page this is really the only page I could fine that breaks what they are doing down very nicely. The objective are very clear and they do a great job describing what has happened over the time they spend researching the movement of the MUVES.
Moodle is a good program and needs to be used with caution along with twitter or Face book.
